Gary Don Benton

1963 - 2009

     Gary Don Benton, of Heart, AR, son of Helen Gilbreath Benton and the late Dale Benton, was born August 3, 1963 in Thayer, MO.  He died may 30, 2009 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home at the age of 45 years, 9 months and 27 days.

     Gary was united in marriage to Sherry Byler on May 4, 1990 at Salem.  He was a member of the Church of Christ and attended services at Heart.  He was the supervisor of parks and streets for the City of Ash Flat, he also served as a firefighter for the city.  He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed wood working.

     Survivors include his wife, Sherry, of the family home; his daughter, Bailey Benton of Heart; his sons, Kyle David Estes of Fayetteville and Derek Henry Estes of Salem; his mother, Helen Benton of Heart; his sister, Donna Benton of Heart; his grandfather, Carroll Benton of Heart, and a host of other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his father, a brother, Jimmy Dale Benton, his grandmother, Tracy Benton and his maternal grandparents, Marion and Eliza Gilbreath.

     Funeral services for Gary were held Monday, June 1, 2009 in Salem, AR with Bruce Caldwell officiating.  Burial was in Burks Chapel Cemetery in Camp, AR.

     Pallbearers were Larry Fowler, Joe Bill Fowler, Danny Grant, Tim Williams, Randy Campbell and Randy Zeigler.  Honorary Pallbearers were Stacy Horton and Donald Booth.
